so , thanks to our commissioners 4 fire fighters that were volunteers on Monday and would have responded for free now got paid to be there . The volunteers lost 9 firefighters that are going to get paid to do the same job for fee. folks see what is going on here this budget is going to explode !
“in the know” YOU DON”T KNOW!!!!! It has nothing to do with the Commissioners it is a Federal Law, STOP spreading lies.
funny , the fire dept has had a paid dept for over 30 years , how have they gone this long without having to follow the Garcia laws ? ever ask your self this ? someone brought it to the attention of the unions !!! wake up
Again “in the know” YOU DON”T KNOW!!!!! There was a loop hole that allowed for Departments with under 5 employees to be exempt. LFD has only had 3 full time and 2 part time for many years. The plan to hire the 6 new full time puts them over and they are being proactive in complying with the law. Please stop spreading your lies.
really because they have had 6 full timers for the last 2 years….. what don’t I know ???? where was the loophole then ??
Two years is a lot different than 30 years. Nice to see you get one thing right.
5 including p/t since at least the early 1980’s. Paid since they had horses.
