  1. your tax dollars paid for it. your tax dollars pay for the fire dept. to respond when your smoke detetctors & carbon monoxide detectors go off, when your oven is fire, your cat is stuck in the tree, basement is flooded, etc…. These fireman are volunteers that give up their time from working, school, retirement, and spending time with friends/family to come and help those in need of help. Would you ask who is paying for it if one of your family members need the fire dept to respond to them for assistance? NO, you wouldn’t you would probally say thank you to them for coming to help, the same thing we should all be saying right now to these volunteers for helping this person.
So I will start it up and others can folllow.

Thank You Lakewood Fire Dept. for responding to this and all calls located in Lakewood, keep up the good work.

  2. Hey Lawyer
It was explained to you before, guess you don’t listen very well or just don’t understand or want to understand. They are two different organizations.

But why pray tell can’t the volunteer fire fighters and the payed ones share fire stations?

Would you prefer the houses be bigger to support all the trucks and equipment? Volunteers can not drive or operate paid trucks and the paid dept has a lot to do while they are on duty to not drive a huge truck around this town..Leave the volunteers alone..

  4. Oh so we need two building right next door, or two building on Monmouth ave.
    Yes build bigger, not Two!
Do you think the tax payers are dummies???

  5. Did anyone notice that those are volunteers on their own time coming to the rescue of a construction worker. Look close because that might be the last time you see any volunteer firefighters in Lakewood. With the attitude of the township committee’s budget cuts and the ungraceful residents (some who dont even pay taxes) why volunteer and lets not forget the new tax burden of a fully funded paid dept,, BYE BYE
