Fire Commissioner Larry Loigman has made a personal donation of $100.00 to the Lakewood Fire Department in recognition of the assistance provided by the volunteers during the Biur Chometz two weeks ago, TLS has learned.
“While the dedication and bravery of our firefighters is demonstrated day in and day out, their willingness to give of their own time to participate in this project for our community merits special thanks,” Loigman commented.
Loigman encourages all Lakewood residents to think about what the Lakewood Fire Department means for us, when responding to their annual fund drive.
“The firefighters answer calls at all hours for actual fires, as well as smoke detector alarms, traffic accidents, and many other emergencies,” says Loigman.
In addition to the financial donations – for those things not provided for in the budget, Loigman says “you should consider service as a volunteer if you are able to do so.”
How do I donate as well?
Larry is a true mentsh!! Kudos!
my donation is on the way
Can I become a volunteer firefighter if I have a beard (small). If not, can I volunteer in any other way, fire police etc..?
Anyone that wants to join the Fire Department can send me an email at jortiz@lakewoodfd.org and I will personally get back to you.

Thank you Larry for your donation and for asking others to do the same. The monies that are donated are used for uniforms and other clothing. Equipment, maintenance and training are paid through tax dollars but uniforms and non-firefighting clothing are paid through donations.

Thank you Larry for the donation. Thank Juan for letting us know where/how our donation is used.
And last but not least, thanx to all the brave firefighters that give up much of their private time for training and responding to calls at any hour of the day or night.
Thank-you.
