Fire Chief Rodney Youmans: Stay Away From Downed Wires

Fire Chief Rodney Youmans expressed great concern regarding downed wires and the potential danger they present. If you see downed wires, never attempt to approach them, Youmans says. They can kill you instantly, G-D forbid.

If you see wires down on the ground, call police immediately.

Additionally, do not walk through puddles, as they may contain downed wires.

During the previous storm, a father and child were killed in New York when they made contact with live electrical wires.
