Money made available through a Federal grant, will give the Municipal building over $500,000 in upgrades, TLS has learned. The upgrades which will include a new fuel efficient boiler – replacing the current 40 year old boiler – new doors and windows, are expected to save the township tens of thousands of dollars yearly on heating and colling costs.
Additionally, as earlier reported, the township will soon be installing solar panel on several Township buildings, including the Municipal building, Inspection Department building and at Public Works building.
“During these financially challenging times we are committed to pursuing new avenues of innovative ways to save on our energy bills”, Mayor Miller said in an earlier interview. TLS.
which vendor got the go ahead to install these panels
Asbestos removal? Lead paint remediation?
This is great news. Mayor Miller is to be commended for another job-well-done.
Can we get some of these grants for the public schools that are in BAD need of repair?
There are several old pieces of furniture in administration that just seem to have no purpose. The township would be better off w a facelift over there. The in one piece that has been there like 37 years and. Really has no purpose. It will have to go in 2 years or so anyway so might as well get rid of it now.
#4 – you need to apply to get the grants! Kudos to Lakewood Township for having the foresight to apply! Let the BOE do the same
maybe some of the money can be used to upgrade the sorry desk and chairs and cars used by the DB
That old piece of furniture sounds like me. Lol
