Psachya Skaist-father of young ChaiLifeline patient Nesanel-and featured in Chai Lifeline’s inspiring video last week-will be biking 135 miles to Camp Simcha, from Lakewood, to raise funds for Chai Lifeline’s Cancer patients. Psachya is one of more than 20 bikers who have signed up for this year’s August bike trip to Camp Simcha, after being inspired by last year’s trip, weathered by Dovid Egert. Dovid raised over $10,000 on his ‘Bike 4 Chai’ trip, which lasted 11.5 hours, as reported on TLS.
The following is a statement from Psachya’s Sponsorship page:
In a few short weeks, I will bike 135 miles from Lakewood to Camp Simcha, an extraordinary overnight camp that gives children with cancer a vacation from illness that restores their spirits and renews their determination to fight illness.
The ride won’t be easy, but neither is life for a child with cancer or other serious illness. Camp Simcha and its sister camp, Camp Simcha Special, are the organization’s flagship programs. Every year these two camps offer 430 children a chance to forget about illness and just be kids again. (To learn more about Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha special, visit www.campsimcha.org. To learn more about all of Chai Lifeline’s free programs and services, visit www.chailifeline.org.)
I will be biking to camp on Tuesday and Wednesday Aug. 3rd & 4th. My objective is to raise $3,600 by then and I hope you will help me reach this goal. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
Please contribute by clicking on the donate button now.
Thank you for supporting me, and in doing so, helping children and their families cope with the diagnosis, treatment, and aftermath of serious pediatric illness.
Best regards,
Psachya

Above is the standard informational text. Here are a few personal words.
If you watched the video of our story, you probably understand by strong feelings of appreciation to Chai Lifeline.
This is practically a last minute decision for me to join this biking team and I think that this is a perfect vehicle for me to use as a fundraiser for Chai Lifeline.
Those who knew me “back in the day” know that I was a big biker.
Recently though (or maybe not so recent?!) the biking equipment has gathered some dust.
I think it’s time to dust off the biking gear, get back on track and help in any way I can to help Chai Lifeline.
Any sponsorship is welcome!
The truth is though, it would be a real ego boost to top the list of the “go-mitzvah superstars!” 😉
So I’m putting this up and…lets see what happens!!!
Thank you all

PISACHYA U DA BEST
Pesachya, ur a great guy & we love u. As a shtick, though, u should strap on ur video camera while ur biking. And upload it @ every break on the bike4chai page. This way we can track u. It’ll also draw viewers to the site, raise awareness & hopefully bring in more donations.
