Current Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles will serve as Mayor for 2020, making it the sitting Mayor’s 4th consecutive year at the helm, TLS has learned.
Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller will also be voted in again to continue in the capacity of Deputy Mayor.
The 5-member Committee, comprised of two democrats and three republicans, selects the Mayor and Deputy positions among themselves.
“I’m honored at the opportunity to serve as Mayor again,” Coles told TLS exclusively. “I will work as hard as possible to make sure Lakewood remains safe and better place to raise our families.”
Coles says, this year he wants to focus on looking at the way things are done in Lakewood, and find a better way to do it.
One of his main focuses, will be to work with law enforcement to enhance security around town.
Coles and Miller will be sworn in during the Reorganization meeting.
More officers, more Supervision. Once the 2020 census comes out we will see how understaffed our PD is in our 120+ thousand population.
He is a good Mayor!
Congratulations to the reappointed Mayor and Deputy Mayor and the entire township committee.
