EXCLUSIVE VIDEO & PHOTOS: Just days after Hagaon Reb Elyashiv Shlita underwent Heart Surgery, noted Lakewood Askan, Reb Michoel Rottenberg along with R’ Pinchos Huminer met with the Gadol for a Bracha after R’ Huminer left the Hospital for the first time since Purim.
R’ Huminer, who was critically struck by a vehicle on Purim in Lakewood and in a vegetative state for months, can be seen in the video talking with R’ Michoel Rottenberg and Hagaon Reb Elyashiv, as if nothing ever happened.
Although his appearance is almost completey normal, he still has a way to go for a complete recovery.
The pair, along with R’ Huminer’s wife and a child, were granted an audience with the Gadol, who wished R’ Huminer a Refuah Shelaima.
Reb Elyashiv Shlita also gave a Bracha to R’ Rottenberg and to all the Askanim who have been involved with the family since the tragic incident.
Following the brief meeting – during which Reb Elyashiv was sitting with a Gemara – Reb Elyashiv can be seen walking towards a golf cart to be driven to Bais Medrash.
R’ Rottenberg, who flew to Eretz Yisroel with the Aron of Reb Chaim Stein Zatzal, has spearheaded the fundraising campaign for the family, along with R’ Shrage Pinter.
While R’ Pinchos lay in a Coma for months, R’ Rottenberg traveled several times to Eretz Yisroel to give Chizuk to the distraught family, and to assist the family financially, while the head of the household could no longer support them.
R Huminer, who was released from the Hospital days ago, was critically injured on Purim night when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the road.
Chevrah Kadisha responded to the scene, as his condition appeared to be extremely critical.
“People should know that the Zchusim of all of Lakewood uniting in such a time, was a tremendous Zchus for his recovery”, Reb Michoel Rottenberg said. TLS.
