The hate-filled lawn signs placed in some areas of Jackson over the weekend were ordered removed by the Mayor of Jackson, Michael Reina.
“These are instigators,” Mayor Reina told TLS. “I had these signs removed as soon as they were brought to my attention, because this does not portray Jackson or its residents. It portrays the hatred that’s not Jackson.”
In fact, the Mayor’s office even tried tracking down the printer of these signs, but nobody taking responsibility lead the Mayor to believe these signs may have been produced outside of Jackson.
The lawn signs, which displayed apparent anti-Semitism, were seen in some areas of the township over the weekend.
The Mayor says these signs are now in his office, and he will continue to have code enforcers remove them if they are on township property.
“I apologize that we even have to have this conversation,” Reina told TLS.
The Mayor also encouraged the communities to communicate more.
“No matter what we’re going to do, there will always be hate prejudice – but this isn’t the consensus of the town,” Reina said.

Chashmonai- how do you know this?
I am sorry to say, but I am not prepared to accept the words of the honorable mayor just yet. I believe there is quite a large amount of hatred towards the Jewish community at this time in Jackson as well as other neighboring towns. Let us not downplay the reality-let us face up to it and fix the problems!
