He has spent much of the last year and a half visiting these boys, working to improve their condition, and help with their legal process). Much information about the 3 bochrim in Jail in Japan has been released in various news papers and events. Due to the large amount of partial information and disinformation, there is much confusion about this case, by the general public. We would like to clarify some of this. There are 3 boys currently still in jail. Even though the names of these boys are widely known in many circles, we will not disclose their last name, due to the desire of one of the boys. 1. There's been so much false reporting about this case, that how can anyone know what's really true, including this post?

BTW, the impression I get is that people in EY (including a classmate of one them that my brother spoke to) think these guys are guilty and knew what they were doing. So you wonder if we are just getting a whole fairy tale to pushed on the Americans, to get them to cough up the dough.

  2. Even if they knew what they were doing, they're kids and didn't realize the repercussions of what they did. They still deserve our help and tefillos. My eyes filled with tears when I read this. Even if they are freed or transferred to E"Y, everything is taking so long and they are suffering immensely.

  3. I feel terrible for these boys.

The only positive thing I can think of, is that no one will ever smuggle drugs into Japan again.

This post should be published in all the Chassideshe Yeshivos in the world.

  4. Att #1. your cynicism is excessive. Why do You give any value to this hearsay of speculation. The boys took suitcases that had sealed compartments in them , and could not have known what was inside. At worst, you should blame them for not suspecting drugs, and should definitely give them the benefit of the doubt. People can be tricked by skilled con artist, and that is what appears to have happened
