[COMMUNICATED] It is often baffling to hear the unlikely tales of how non-Jews found their way on the path to Torah observance. Ger tzedek Daniel’s story is as inspirational as it is surprising.
Ten years ago, Daniel was a non-Jewish construction worker living in Moldova. He was called for a job constructing an eruv, a term which at the time was completely foreign to him. Little did he know, it was the beginning of his journey toward becoming a Jew.
Meanwhile, in the Ukraine, a non-Jewish girl known as Sarah was also beginning to learn more about Judaism.
Fast forward 10 years, and Daniel is now a chassid with peyos, learning in the Belz Yeshiva in Israel. Sarah is a young Jewish woman like any other, living in Jerusalem. They are engaged to be married.
With no family involved on either side, these two special souls are struggling to make their wedding and start a home.
“We have seen and heard stories of the amazing kindness and generosity of the Jewish people,” touching campaign text reads. “We are praying that even though we have no family, klal yisroel will embrace us as their family, and help us to get married and start our home.”
Fate has brought them this far. Whether they will settle their home in peace or poverty, is the next chapter in their fascinating story.
