PHOTOS & VIDEO: The students at the Ella G. Clarke school this afternoon celebrated Arbor Day with Mayor Menashe Miller and officials of the Shade Tree Commission. The young students gathered around the freshly planted Star Magnolia tree placed in the front yard, as Mayor Miller handed over a proclamation to the Chairman of the Shade Tree Commission, Michael Gross, in honor of the event.
After the Mayor’s presentation, the young children sang a song, and thanked the Mayor and officials for choosing their school for the tree to be planted at.
Also in attendance, was school superintendent Ms. Lydia Silva.
In previous years, trees were planted at the OEM/EMS building, and at the Public Works Complex. TLS.
