There may be some relief from the heat for some this Summer, as electric companies announce they will be dropping their rates, though slightly. According to a report on News 12, Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L) has announced that its rates will decrease by about 6 percent starting in June.
Electric company Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G), say they will reduce rates by about 3 percent. TLS/News 12.

Well, it’s about time. Ever since PSE&G purchased JCP&L, rate payers in the parts of New Jersey that are controlled by PSE&G have gotten reduced service, and higher rates.
It is difficult at best to fight public utilities, but in this case it is warranted. After the takeover, PSE&G reduced service personnel, in order to recover their purchase price quickly. This was at the expense of us ratepayers.
just in time for the water rate increase!
How come the water company is never able to decrease their price, only the gas and electric companies?
this is very imp. bec. in the summer we use more electric
why cant the water rates drop???????
#3, because there is no competition.
Whatever story the power company feeds us, fact remains that there is now competition and rates are going down. Coincidence? Probably not.

Thank you for explaining it to me.
Bill,
Jersey Central Power and Light was purchased by an Ohio outfit called First Energy
Old Goyim Billy,
You are correct. It was First Energy. Perhaps a senior moment. Thank you for taking the time to point this out.
Why don’t you turn to the gov you seem to love and ask him to help. Obviously he’d do anything to save his votes.
