An elderly man was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Lakewood this evening.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Monmouth Avenue and 7th Street.
Hatzolah Paramedics responded to the scene, and transported the patient to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with a serious head injury, officials said.
This is the third pedestrian struck in Lakewood in two days.
Pedestrians and drivers are urged to use extra caution during these early winter nights.
Name for Tehilim please?
Thanks.
Daven for all of those who don’t know / understand the importance of reflectors.
Why isn’t there a big deal about all these accidents and hit by cars!? This is a full blown crisis
There is; it’s called reflectors. many wear them, but many just don’t understand the importance. They’re available in numerous stores, including: All four NPGS locations, Superstop, River Ave Pharmacy, Seasons, Gourmet Glatt, Center of Town x2, Farm Fresh and more
This has been happening much too often. I think it’s time for a Township ordinance mandating the wearing of reflectors, including by bicyclists and school children coming off buses, from dusk until dawn.
Also, some streets are poorly lit due to burned out street lights. The LCSW patrols the streets at night. If they notice street lights that are burned out they should report them to the Township and JCP&L.
