FULL VIDEO of Elcon’s presentation to the Township Committee yesterday evening, by the company’s consultant Dr. Ramesh. The company gave a 15 minute presentation explaining how it produces clean energy from pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and industrial wastewater, and recycles its own output of steam energy to create a sustainable loop.
The company also asked for the public’s input, as it plans to bring the system to Lakewood in a process which could take up to a year to bring to fruition.
Lakewood’s Economic Developer Steven Reinman, who was instrumental in bringing the company to Lakewood, says the company will add growth to the Industrial Park as well as offer much needed jobs to the local economy.

I’m hesitant to have water, food and drug waste come into Lakewood. What if it gets into our groundwater? What is the odor factor? What is the tax implication? There are many questions that must be answered.
And where were you when they had a public demonstration to allow residents to ask questions like that? Posting on the scoop isn’t going to get you answers- get off the computer and get involved with what’s going on in your town!
