Drugs Found At Shootout Site-Second Suspect In Custody

shootout homeInvestigators say their search of a Lakewood house where a drug raid shootout left four police officers injured has turned up a large enough quantity of suspected cocaine and marijuana to indicate that it was meant for distribution. Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said Saturday that the drug search was still in its early stages. Earlier today, investigators completed a forensic search aimed at reconstructing the gun fight Thursday morning between a resident of the house and officers who broke down the door. All the officers are expected to recover. The shooting suspect remains hospitalized with gunshot wounds. A second resident of the house is in police custody and is being charged with obstruction.
