Driver Seriously injured in Route 70 Accident; Traffic Alert (PHOTOS)

rt 70 mvaA driver was seriously injured in accident this afternoon on Route 70, police say.

The accident occurred around 12:15 PM on the westbound lanes when an elderly driver reported slammed into the rear of a truck, officials say.

A medevac was requested but then cancelled.

The patient is being transported with paramedics to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with serious injuries.

Route 70 westbound is partially shut for the investigation by LPD’s Traffic and Safety department.
