Detective Lieutenant William Addison of the Lakewood Police Department tells TLS, that the driver of the overturned vehicle on Motzei Shabbos, was charged with DWI. The driver, a Hispanic male, was traveling with another male in the vehicle, when they collided with another vehicle, and rolled over at the intersection of Kennedy Blvd. and Princeton Avenue. The passenger, was treated in the Hospital and released, and the driver was taken to the Hospital for psychiatric evaluation before being taken to Ocean County jail.
A principal of a local Yeshivah tells TLS, that these two males were employees of his school.
As earlier reported, the passengers of the overturned vehicle were extricated by Hatzolah and Lakewood First Aid.
A total of 5 passengers were transported to the Hospital from the MVA. TLS-CCP
Should we blame the drivers employer as we blame landlords when they break the law? If the driver is illegal Dover go after his employer? Of cource not?
Since this is a DWI case, his citizenship can legally be checked.
It depends. If they were driving a school vehicle or were during work at the time, the school could be held liable.
Thank you Will for getting the job done!
why was there a need to mention his race?
maybe thet were having a lchaim to celebrate that their scool was open and they have a job.
To number 1 – very poor comparison.
If you need an explanation- clearly you aren’t looking for one- instead you like to use this as a excuse for ‘landlords’ wrongdoings.
There is no comparison. Sorry pal.
I strongly beg to differ.
The landlord can do due diligence. For instance, the landlord can do a credit check and check the potential tenants criminal history. Remember, the tenant will be living in the landlords house.
Mah she eyn keyn the Yeshiva. How can you even compare a random
(hopefully) act of drinking.
Furthermore, In the case of the landlord it might be reckless and certainly negligent to rent to a known perp.
To employ someone is another matter. How can the employer even monitor what his employee does at home. Should he?
The tenant on the other hand will be occupying the landlords home and if the tenant has a rap sheet as long as my arm. Why rent to him?
In sum: no tzu shtel. Now go back to Seder. 🙂
Thank you. Well put.
If he is illegal then I say #1 has a point. He wouldn’t be here if he coulnd’t find a job. Or if no one would rent to him.
It has nothing to do with anything
I’m going to seder soon .
How are the wounded doing?? moral of the story: u can b the best driver, but the other guy might b drunk. Solution? Hershel for mayor!!
did he have a license at all?
I think #1 was referring to his illegal alien status. He was saying that just as we don’t want landlords taking illegals as tenants, employers shouldn’t take illegals as employees. Makes sense to me.(Except for the fact that we’re all hiding under the rug–we need cheap illegal labor to keep our economy going, right?)
I HOPE THE YOUNG FAMILY MAKES A LOT OF MONEY AFTER ALL THAT THEY ARE GOING THROUGH!!!
