  1. Should we blame the drivers employer as we blame landlords when they break the law? If the driver is illegal Dover go after his employer? Of cource not?

  2. To number 1 – very poor comparison.

If you need an explanation- clearly you aren’t looking for one- instead you like to use this as a excuse for ‘landlords’ wrongdoings.

  3.  There is no comparison. Sorry pal.

    I strongly beg to differ.

The landlord can do due diligence. For instance, the landlord can do a credit check and check the potential tenants criminal history. Remember, the tenant will be living in the landlords house.

Mah she eyn keyn the Yeshiva. How can you even compare a random
     (hopefully) act of drinking.

Furthermore, In the case of the landlord it might be reckless and certainly negligent to rent to a known perp.

To employ someone is another matter. How can the employer even monitor what his employee does at home. Should he?

The tenant on the other hand will be occupying the landlords home and if the tenant has a rap sheet as long as my arm. Why rent to him?

In sum: no tzu shtel.  Now go back to Seder. 🙂

  4. How are the wounded doing?? moral of the story: u can b the best driver, but the other guy might b drunk. Solution? Hershel for mayor!!

  5. I think #1 was referring to his illegal alien status. He was saying that just as we don’t want landlords taking illegals as tenants, employers shouldn’t take illegals as employees. Makes sense to me.(Except for the fact that we’re all hiding under the rug–we need cheap illegal labor to keep our economy going, right?)
