A suspect driving a stolen vehicle caused a multi-vehicle accident in Lakewood over Shabbos.

The suspect reportedly stole a vehicle from a home in Lakewood, and crashed into vehicles along a block in Raintree, neighbors say. The suspect fled the scene.

Police were called around 7 AM and responded with a K9. An investigation is underway.

Spoke to the some people.. His car was crashed into , was a hit and run, the driver fled. Officially, was a stolen car but most people think the car owner was drunk, crashed and fled. Witness saw the driver being busy with papers after the crash, sounds like he fled and then reported his own car as stolen. Police also reportedly didn’t calla detective down, no prints were taken, very low confidence level that police exert effort and catch this criminal

Shmuel – I gotta say, that was a very well articulated and researched report. Clearly, you worked very hard to get accurate information from reliable sources. Thanx so much for all your hard work. Its greatly appreciated.

Saw it Saturday morning. Terrible hit and run. A lot of damage. Hope they catch the perp. Lakewood police are top professionals and let’s hope we hear the perp is in jail within a few

Agree. LPD does a good job. The problem is what to do next. Keep him locked up for 2 days, then what. The guy is out again. There’s not much LPD or anyone else can do. In China, it’s different of course. But in America, we protect the poor, defenseless, nebech perps, who cause tens of thousands of dollars in damage, from wrecking multiple cars. We could always move to Pakistan I guess
