Driver Found Unconscious Behind Wheel on Cross Street Arrested for DWI

A driver was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) this morning after police found him passed out behind the wheel on Cross Street.

Emergency personnel responded after receiving reports of a man slumped over in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered the driver unresponsive and were forced to break into the vehicle to gain access.

The driver was evaluated and subsequently determined to be under the influence. He was placed under arrest at the scene.

He wasn’t driving, so why did they arrest him? Maybe he was by a friend’s house and realized he can’t drive home so he decided to sleep in his car until the alcohol wore off?

If you have been drinking and you put the key in the ignition it is considered intent. And you will be arrested.
