Driver Assaulted after Striking Pedestrian Released from Hospital

lpd crime scene cov shootingThe driver of the vehicle that struck and killed a woman on Ocean Avenue on Saturday and who was subsequently beaten, has been released today from the hospital, officials tell TLS.

The driver, who reportedly got out of his vehicle to check on the victim, was attacked and left severely injured on the ground. He reportedly suffered head injuries from being punched and kicked. He was airlifted to JSUMC, as first reported by TLS.

The events which followed the crash are still under investigation, police say.

  1. While I understand the grief the victims family felt, it doesn’t give them the right to beat the driver. Last I checked we lived in a civilized society.

  2. Grief? Expressing anger, and physical assault is how this group chose to honor their friend. Is that the same person so many commented so many positive character traits about, always a smile, happy to help? You were no friend to that person, she deserved better then a bunch of idiots pouncing on some guy.

  3. Was it the person who was assaulted or a passenger? I heard reports the driver fled and the passenger was the one who went to check on the victim.

  4. She wasn’t a passenger. It was her brothers that did the beating. Whatever it was everybody reacts different…..people be so quick judging.
