Dr. Rich Roberts thanks community for the carnival feedback

From Dr. Rich Roberts on Friday’s annual Chol Hamo’ed Pesach Carnival:

I want to thank everyone who posted supportive comments here.

We give only one nosh and toy per child in attendance who goes to the distribution tables. With 35 minutes left, we gave the last of our 6000 chocolate bars and puzzle snakes.

So the total number of children in attendance, considering that some don’t take outside food on Pesach and we ran out, was about 7000 to 8000 children.

Most of the preparation work was done over the last four months by four people.

We’ll try to fix the cotton candy backup for the Succos carnival. And the comments on the petting zoo indicate that we should include it in future carnivals.

Thanks again to all who attended and commented.

Kasriel (Rich) Roberts

  2. Thank you Dr. Roberts for the amazing chol hamoed carnival. My husband took my children and they all had a super time and came home calm and happy. You are a true role model for us all. I’m humbled by your thoughtfulness not only in creating the wonderful event but also in the way it is run; accessible, organized, safe and fun. You should be gebentched!

  3. Dr. ROBERTS,
    YOU MADE ANOTHER SPECIAL EVENT!
MAY YOU HAVE MUCH HATZLOCHO AND NACHAS!
ONE NOTE TO THE OILOM, THE PETTING ZOO HAD HAND SANITIZER FOR THE PETTERS TO USE. ITS NOT LISTED IN THE BOOK AS OK FOR P AND IT DOES CONTAIN ALCOHOL. CHAG SAMEACH

  4. Dr. Roberts – THANK YOU! This was our first time attending the carnival at the new location, and it was excellent in all ways. All of the changes that were made, since the Pine Park days, make the carnival even more enjoyable than ever. One piece of feedback – although I’m not sure if this is in your control or not. Although there were benches set up at the outdoor shows, there wasn’t enough seating for everyone. The big children and adults (I’m sorry, but it was boys and men, not girls or women…) stood crowded along the sides of the gates, blocking the shorter, younger children. By two different shows, my young children were crying because bigger boys pushed in front of them, and they weren’t able to see anything. Is there any way for a strict rule of adults and older children (11, 12, 13 yrs etc.) standing further back and keeping the front area for young children only (4, 5, 6 yrs etc) ? Thank you again for everything, and for always looking to make things better and better. A Gut Moed

  5. Thank you Dr. Roberts for an amazing carnival ! The setup of shows was great- having 2 at once in separate locations divided up the crowd , as were the high stages allowing everyone to see . My kids were Also thrilled to see the petting zoo back . Thank you so much ! May you u continued to be benched with much Mazal and Brocha !

  6. thank you so much! we had an awesome time as always. the shows were perfect for all ages and the petting zoo was a great hit. thanks for the nosh and toys- my kids were so excited! I’m amazed how each year you are always looking for ways to improve even though the event is always great. kol hakavod! I was very impressed that even though so many people were there it didn’t feel crowded. you really put thought into how to set up everything so that not everyone was converging in the same area at the same time. and I appreciate that it was on Friday since that’s always a day that we want to do something close to home, even though any day it is always works out since we plan our chol hamoed around your carnival. a relative of mine even came in from new York since her kids were always hearing about your carnival and were upset they were missing out. thank you so much and may Hashem continue to bless you with the means to be so kind and generous.

  7. Thank you Dr.
    ORoberts for another amazing carnival!!
A special thank you for doing it on Friday.
A special thanks to Shaya Leifer from Camp Blev Echad for all the arraignments and running of the event. Job well done!!

  8. Thank you for the event it was really enjoyable. My kids had a great time. I do have one comment about the petting zoo. If there is a way there could be more supervision or parents really have to be watching their kids. My kids love animals and we saw some kids throwing wood chips and paper at some of the animals and actually some kids hurting some of the animals. Just felt like it wasn’t nice to the animals and was making the owners upset. I would love to see the petting zoo come back but if there is any ideas for those things I pointed out. Ty

  9. It was truly amazing! Thank you Dr. Roberts for all the effort and thought you put it. If only people would know, this is only one of the small pieces of chesed you do for Klal Yisroel! May you be blessed with all the Bracha one can ask for!
