  1. Great Job!
You can be sure with the logic stated above that NYC will now clamp down on Metziza Bepeh again…
as “the right to practice religious liberty does not include the liberty to expose… the child… to ill health or death”.

  2. Confused.
In every 501c3 the organization obligates itself not to discriminate against religion.
Hence any Yeshiva or school which is non-profit, inherently gave up its religious rights and can no longer discriminate…

  3. I didn’t read through everything but I’m not understanding how people can claim that Judaism does not allow immunizations. How can people lie and sign that immunizing children goes against our religious beliefs? This is a personal belief and it’s sad that people can hide behind religion on this one- no matter who signs the documents.

    • You are free to choose, and free to start your own school. I wonder how many of these anti-vaxxers would be willing to send their children to a school where no one had vaccines?

  4. John Marshall long ago limited your right to choose. You can’t yell fire in a crowded house (or theater). Likewise, you can’t have misguided “choices ” that affect others.

  5. I don’t see how this will stop the spread of diseases. These same kids will be in our shuls, eateries, playgrounds, kids programs etc. What is this an attack on religious freedoms in the United states? I see this opening a pandoras box for much more religious discrimination. Can we see the writing on the wall when Jews attack other Jews. Hashem yerachem. Can we leave personal agendas aside?

  6. @a us citizen. When it comes to public safety. You can’t just do what you want.
    You can’t endanger the public.
Can you drive a 100 miles an hour?
Can you build your house the way you want with out inspections?
The list goes on and on.

  7. There is always going to be two opinions on these type of issues. This letter is not toras emes.some of it is Toras Luckshin. Only a judge can decide. I would not be surprised if the anti vaxxers. Ask the same attorney firm for their opinion, they would write the opposite.

  8. No, it’s not a free country. You may not kill other people in the name of freedom. Nor may you take other people’s money. By the same token, you may infect others with contagious diseases.

  9. Wow thank u dr Roberts! Perhaps this letter will be a glaring reality to those who have tried to deceive others with false “kneiziology”, nuetrocuticals, etc…and of course the false claims of the many “harmful” effects of the mmr. I hope that at this point, even the well-meaning anti-vaxxers will agree to vaccinate and “risk” the effects in order to save their immunocompromised brothers?!

  10. Why does everything with Lakewood come down to attorneys and suing? Why can lakewood just not get along with themselves and others? I would really think a townn full of religious people would be able to be civil more. Such a shame it’s come to lawyers involved in even doctoring

  11. ahhh…
But the schools ARE state actors…
There are recording and transcripts of the NYC DoH demanding that schools no longer take religious exemptions… not in relation to outbreaks.

  12. not sure i understand what NY State law has to do with US in NJ.NJ has different laws than NJ as far as religious exemption is concerned
    can someone explain please.

  13. If a rav tells me to drive on the shoulder erev shabbos half hr before shkiya , does that me he has a religious exemption to do so?
    Stop hocking already!

  14. To Huh/ A US Citizen-

You can’t claim it’s religious discrimination when a frum child is already accepted into a yeshiva. The issue is personal beliefs, and you have the following options: A> Request a refund and take your child elsewhere. They aren’t required to give you one unless there is a provision in the contract.

B> homeschool your unvaccinated child. This is your legal right in our free country.

C> get an educational degree, hire some teachers, and open an unvax’ed school.

And most importantly, D> is your child has the measles, don’t allow them into shuls, eateries, and playgrounds until they are no longer contagious.

  15. I have a question for Dr. Roberts and people who go his carnival.

If you so worried about well being and health of your kids, why are you pumping them with all delicious junk food full of sugar and chemicals that most of which you can’t even read properly
    Where is the outcry?
Childhood obesity is a couse of many chronic deseases.
Kids are pumped with medications from a very early age and I don’t know about you but I don’t want my kids taking pills.
So again where is the outcry, why is is promoted and accepted as norm ?
    Please enlighten me

  16. Dr. Robert’s perhaps your attorney can give his opinion if insurance companies need to pay for MMR for older people who are no longer protected?? (Due to the MMR not being effective as people age). Have you taken or plan to take additional MMR yourself???
