DPW: We’re Ready

[UPDATED] The Department of Public Works says they’re ready for the impending storm. The Management at DPW tells TLS they have 20 plows trucks, as well as salt trucks, ready to go if necessary.“We are monitoring the storm closely”, an official at DPW said.

The salt trucks will be salting the streets as soon as the snow hits, but plowing won’t begin until accumulation reaches three inches, the official said.

Snow is expected to hit Lakewood later in the afternoon and possibly bring 4-8 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

UPDATE 4PM FRIDAY: Officials now say snow accumulation stands at 2-4 inches for Ocean County.

The Winter Storm Warning has been cancelled, and has bee replaced by a Winter Weather Advisory.

Just to let you know that we parked our cars in our landlord’s driveway and so did my neighbors, so like this it will be easier for the DPW to plow a wide path for the cars in the street. However, they did a narrow one way path as opposed to do doing a wider plow.

Just asking

DPW thank you for plowing our street in a timely manner. Sorry about the neighbors who didnt remove their cars to make your job a little easier.

We had the same thing here in our development. Most people parked their cars in the driveways, yet they plowed just a small narrow path.

thank you but just an FYI….

recommend definitely to make wider cleanup. Understandable it is just to make a pass through, but make it for a car and not a bike!

For those who only had a narrow path plowed on your streets, you should take your garbage and recycling cans off the street as well. This too will help in the cleanup.
