Over three dozen frum Jackson residents attended a Jackson Township Board of Education meeting Wednesday evening, with the residents requesting for changes to the BOE’s policy of informing parents about busing available to their children.
Specifically, the parents requested that the Board of Education inform parents earlier in the year whether they will have busing for their children in the coming school. Until now, the BOE told parents on August 1st what the busing situation was, and with schools often starting less than a month afterwards, many parents are left with few options to ensure that their children have transportation to their schools in the new year.
BOE member Scott Sargent was extremely receptive of the parents’ request and committed to working towards informing parents earlier in the year whether busing will be available to their children.
Mr Sargent showed compassion and empathy for the plight of the mothers at the meeting – the others not so much sounded Like bureaucratic mumbo-jumbo talking about processes and timelines fact is Tom’s River notifies their parents in March/-April – lsta has bid and renewel’s in April – Jackson boe has to step it up and help our Jackson population – kudos to Mr Sargent for asking the questions that no one else dared to ask !
Thank you to all community advocates!
Thank you Mr. Sargent. Jackson Admin. needs to start working for all.
