Following the monster Hurricane Sandy this week, there’s a very good chance that your neighborhood Eruv didn’t withstand the Hurricane and is Pasul. If the Eruv will not be checked beforeShabbos, a Rav should be consulted as to the Kashrus status of the Eruv.
If you know of an Eruv which will remain Pasul for Shabbos, please email to [email protected] and we’ll post it here.

– The Birch Street Eruv will be down for Shabbos.
– The Warren Avenue Eruv is donw, as well as area Eruvin.
By the way an eruv is not just two polls and a string. Some times it doesn’t work such as in a reshus harabbim, or on the side walks, check your eruv if it’s on the side walk, that’s a big problem. most poskim hold it’s a problem. Maran Harav Leib Shteinman Shlit”a,said before huriicane sandy, that people should be careful about hotzaah on shaboss!!!!
Carrying in lakewood streets is also a big problem according to many poskim and according to Rav Aron Zatza”l who held our streets that are wide and have a din reshus Harabim. and a turas hapeash doen’t help in a reshus harabim.
lets heeed the call of the Gedolim Shlit”a.
#1 Go away Eruv kanoi, let everyone follow their Rabbonim and mind you own business about where one may make an eruv. Be frum with youself, and stay out of other’s lives.
you go away!!
