Donald Trump is Tied with Jeb Bush for Lead in National Poll

trump bushDonald J. Trump’s surge in the polls shows no signs of abating. The business mogul and Republican presidential candidate is in a statistical tie with former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida in a Suffolk University/USA Today national poll of potential primary voters released on Tuesday. The survey is the latest in a succession of strong showings since Mr. Trump announced his campaign last month and made inflammatory comments about illegal immigrants.

Mr. Trump has the support of 17 percent of Republican or independent voters who say they plan to participate in the party’s primary elections or caucuses, while Mr. Bush has 14 percent; the difference is within the survey’s margin of error.

“Trump is making daily headlines in advance of the primary season,” said David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center in Boston. “This has vaulted him to the top of the pack on the backs of conservative voters.” Read more in NYTimes

  1. The crazy part is that Bush has 14 points from within the republican party while there is no differce between him and Hillary!!!

  2. President Carter also had dealings with Iran, see how that Democrat made out in that deal, just as good as this one did. It was a Republican that had to clean up that mess and hopefully a Republican will be able to clean up this mess.

  3. It goes to show how people feel about the politics & the government in this country. Here’s a guy who has no political experience makes inflammatory remarks that are politically incorrect & he’s leading in the polls.

  4. People are obviously tired of useless men occupying the white house. Thats the only reason I think Trump’s this high in the polls.

  5. Who really wants another Bush in office! We need someone who’s gonna shake up the landscape of our great nation but I don’t know about Trump.

  6. Can’t believe the clown, Trump, has made it this far. I hope it’s just a fluke! If we Republicans want to win the White House, we’ll have to do better than this.

  7. Trump has rebounded from being broke, maybe he has a plan to stop China from foreclosing on USA?

He was right about importing “undocumented” criminals, they don’t do illegal things, only undocumented crimes

And right about vaccine quackery, unless you believe granny lived longer because their kids were vaxed

  8. One thing is certain. If Trump were to become president, he will be doing his best for the country that he’s proud of, day in day out – and not out half the time on golf courses and vacations.

  9. Jimmy Carter, the peanut farmer from Georgia also governed that state. It’s mind boggling that people actually say they would vote for the arrogant Trump who doesn’t know the first thing about being a government leader. Then again Obama won the presidency so who knows. Let’s hope for the best.

  10. Pols are meaningless. Trump has as much chance of getting the nomination as I do. He has embarrassed his party. Of the 16 Republicans who’ve joined the race, not one of them will beat Hillary. Too many extremist, poor performers, and religious zealots. They will scare away moderates and independents. The fact that Jeb Bush won’t use his last name in his campaign tells you something.
