[COMMUNICATED] Can you imagine if you would call Hatzolah and the dispatcher would say, “Sure, no problem, I’ll be happy to send someone over, but, can you please call me back to remind me in 15 minutes?”
Of course, this would never happen. Hatzolah responded right away to each of the thousands of calls it received this year. So, why is it that when Hatzolah calls on all of us we don’t respond right away?
You’ve heard many emotional and inspiring stories about Hatzolah’s lifesaving work. You’ve heard about heart attack victims and how Hatzolah miraculously saved someone’s life. You’ve read about serious car accidents or choking stories and how Hatzolah was there in the nick of time. Do we need to remind you about what an amazing organization Hatzolah is, who’s devoted members will stop everything to help a fellow Yid? Do we need to impress upon you how Hatzolah is always there at a moment’s notice when every moment counts?
YOU KNOW ALL OF THIS. WE DON’T NEED TO TELL IT TO YOU.
At this time of year when we are all davening for life, gezunt, nachas and prosperity, please give YOUR generous donation and become a TOMEICH HATZOLAH for the upcoming year, 5779.
Please donate at least $104 or consider monthly recurring payments.
The Tomeich campaign funds for the basic operating costs to respond and help save lives every single day. Please, don’t wait to respond. Visit lakewoodhatzolah.com or call 732.458.7999
There are many important tzedakah organizations in our town. They all do great work. However, there are some, which I will not mention by name, who choose to use aggressive and tacky advertising. I am referring to late-night robocalls, emails they won’t unsubscribe me from, and rude, aggressive advertising slogans. They may do good work with their organizations but I can’t stomach their advertising.
Then there are the others, like Hatzolah. They have always stood above it all. Yes, they have a marketing team. But they have always been polite and proper. So you can guess which tzedakos I prefer.
Then I read an article like this one. Titled “Do we really need to remind you again?” I must say I am disappointed and will be rethinking where I give money.
Now I know I will be attacked by other people saying may you never need them etc. But that is not the point I am making and this is what I feel.
I’ve run a campaign before, and it is really difficult to watch how the donation coming in are few and far between! I’m thinking, just donate! Take a minute and get your CC and donate!! But people just read the scoop, read their emails and go on to the next one. Ppl have good intentions but good intentions will not get hatzola anywhere!!!! So, DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO BE REMINDED AGAIN??????
Do it now!!!!! ( And no, I do not work for hatzola or affiliated with them in sny way besides fory yearly donation. Which btw I pay a little bit every month to reach my $104 for the yr. They can set that up for.you). Gut gebentched Yar!!
I think this was a very offensive way to talk to the community. I understand the mission but this was really not the way to go about it.
@annoyed.
You should have a refuah Sheleima.
Remember to Dial 911. If you have a fire. PLEASE
To annoyed:
I think that it’s a feeble attempt at humor.
Regardless, those that were the ads aren’t those saving lives (at least not directly) and a tacky ad doesn’t minimize what they are doing one bit. Please continue to donate as people will continue to need their help… Maybe me… Maybe you.
get over all your frustrations and think positive these guys are the guys you rely on they do’t get annoyed when they stop their day stops for you
