Do Not Block Plows/List Your Street If It Has Not Yet Been Plowed

plowURGENT: First, we have been asked to post, that any cars which are blocking the plow trucks will either be ticketed or towed. Also, many readers have been complaining about their streets being plowed and have asked us to contact the Township. Please post your street in the comment section if it has not yet been cleared and we will try to get an ETA from the Township regarding it. Please also understand, that the Township has dozens of trucks out on the road, and not every road can get plowed first. We will keep you posted.

  1. To #9 – lakewood resident—
What Do you mean “don’t block the plows ” ? What am I supposed to do with my car ? Take it into my living room ?

That means park the car in your driveway. Or on your lawn. Get it off the road so the plows can clean the street of snow. If you live in a townhouse then complain to the landlord that you need more parking spaces. Maybe you have too many cars?

  2. queens court, kings court and van buren avenue were not plowed, and we have several lakewood hatzolah members and a lakewood first aid/fire dept member plus a cop stuck on the block unable to respond to calls/work because the snow is too high in the street

  3. Is. The town plowing the townhouse streets now because the LAc complained. That is why legitimate street plowing is delayed? When you buy in a development it was explained there is no plowing done. Then you cry for services. What a bunch of. Babies. Then you cry you want taxes lowered. WAaaaah.

  4. You’re complaining about your dead end streets and development streets that haven’t been turned over to the township. its a lot more important for them to do the main arteries than your too narrow development streets. As to where to put your cars, if you live on a “snow route” street then you had no business parking it there over shabbos because they were expecting snow and on the side streets at least have the seichel to ask your neighbor for a driveway if you yourself don’t have one. Somehow here in chicago we’ve been managing since the beginning of time without driveways on most streets yet they all get plowed.
Stop kvetching and learn how to help yourselves

  5. plow every street….why don’t they attach plows to all the new garbadge trucks seems like an economical way to me to get the job done quicker.

  6. i cant park my car infront of yeshiva, can u please plow so i can learn. learning is the most important forget the hatzolah get yeshiva we save lifes first!!!!!

  7. ok folks….use that little pea sized brain you were given…….we just had a blizzard 2 feet of snow…… will take a few days…yes days to clear the roads. If everyone parked in their driveways off the streets, and didn’t drive the snow plows could do their jobs easier and quicker. Last night from my block I kept hearing the horn from the snow plow blowing as idiots were out on the roads…………….going to J2 I am sure.

  8. if the small side streets are not as important and therfore we have to wait days (not just hrs) then why do we have to pay the same tax amounts???? if we cant get the service then we should not have to pay!! we pay as much OR EVEN MORE then other areas so why are we not entitled to service?? what are we getting for our taxes ??? garbage pick up once a week??

  9. I’m in boro park and every street was already plowed by the time I woke at 8.00 they are just finishing round 2 now the streets are BLACK!!!

  10. This is a disgrace the “asakan” tells us get off the road because he is blaming us for not having the roads plowed. As of last night /this morning we haven’t seen any streets cleared. They just now plowed my street11:00AM. This is a disgrace.

  11. Those people in the developments cimplaining about not being plowed – you’re in for a long wait. The LAC negotiated township plowing for the developments instead of the private plowing that they used to have. Of course, what they don’t tell everyone is that the developments are now LAST, after even the most minor street. If they had stuck with the private plowing, your streets would already be cleared.

  12. To all those that commented to my post (#9) that all very fine if you have a nice big driveway and/or lawn to do as some of you mentioned but for us plain yidden that don’t have that extra luxury , just our plain houses we have nowhere to put our cars . So please stop acting like these “knowitall bigshots” with big fancy suv’s

  13. So we put our cars in the driveway…only to be blocked in by the snow plows. Its a no win situation. At least it doesn’t snow here much. This town doesn’t know how to deal with it. Then when we try to dig out of the driveways we get yelled at by the snow plowers.

  14. Gee whiz. All of a sudden plowing is so important? It never stopped all to many before. I watch in horror at the stroke of sundown, last evening, as our learned hasidim go flying down streets at speeds they shouldn’t do on dry days. What is the rush and what is so important that you have to endanger my life ( the heck with yours).
And to #18 try using your garage ( take out the 15 bikes, 50 chairs, assorted furniture, etc…IT’S A GARAGE NOT A STORAGE UNIT).
Further more if some drivers would learn how to park at the curb and not 4 feet out it would help.

  15. i grew up in monsey lakewood should learn from places like that we dont live in florida it snows here and what a awful job they do
you see a bozo township pick up truch trying to plow what a joke and his salter is off (should i say his sander cause we limit the salt cause it may ruin the roads – actual quote from J franklin so now thanks we have a sheet of ice
FRANKLIN GOTO GO we can give him a retiremnt room and the 26 MILLION “PUBLIC WORKS COMPLEX

  16. I would like to publicly thank Yosef Solkowitz and Shui Shmuckler for all their hard work in Lakeview Place in getting the streets and parking spots all clean! Thanks for all!

  17. Some streets in High Street Develpoment still haven’t seen a plow at 7:30pm Sunday night, but don’t worry Lakewood police are around to tow those cars who can’t get onto there street!!!!!!

  18. word on the school openings mon. a.m. lhs’s will not be open therefore there will probably not be transportation. also, for the safety of the community could everyone please shovel their sidewalk?

  19. oak st schools; no justice no plows;
Forest av is a winter nightmareland
    clifton feliz snowydad
homeless tent city has seen ZERO plows. they are last . they win.
