DEVELOPING: Several-acre Forest Fire Burning in Jackson [VIDEO]

A several-acre forest fire is burning in the area of Bennetts Mills Rd in Jackson.

The New Jersey State Forest Fire Service is on scene along with Jackson Firefighters.

Avoid the area.

UPDATE 3 PM: The NJFFS tells TLS the fire was caused by a downed power line, and quickly spread due to the wind.

The fire was contained to approximately five acres and was caused by a downed power line which quickly spread due to the wind. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it could spread further and threaten structures.

No injuries were reported.
