Deputy Mayor & Wife Celebrate Grandson’s Pidyon Ha’ben

PHOTO: Deputy Mayor Steven Langert and his wife celebrated the Pidyon Ha’ben of their first grandchild yesterday evening. The boy was born to their daughter and son-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Jordan and Sara Reifer.

The custom at the relatively rare ceremony, is to decorate the child with various pieces of jewelry, as well as with other items – which are then considered blessed.

The event at the Esther Gerber Auditorium, was attended by family, friends and local officials.
