A dazed man walking along Route 9 last night tells police he was the victim of a vicious robbery, police say.
At about 10 p.m. on Friday night, Officer Tyler DiStefano responded to Ford Avenue to investigate the report of a suspicious man walking in a wooded area.
“Responding Officers located a 22 year old Lakewood man, claiming to be the victim of an aggravated assault and robbery, as he was walking along Route 9,” Detective Sergeant Greg Staffordsmith says.
The victim was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus for treatment of several lacerations to his face.
“Details surrounding the actual event were not readily available, due to the fact that the victim appeared to be dazed and confused,” Staffordsmith says.
At this time, the investigation is under investigation by Det. Craig Fink and Officer Steve Kelusak.
