While power has been restored to thousands in and around Lakewood, several thousands are still without power – and could still be until Friday.
As earlier reported, some area were hit harder than others, requiring more work to repair.
The company still gives an ETA of July 26 for the remainder of Lakewood.
A total of approximately 45,000 JCP&L customers are still without power since the storm hit on Monday. Immediately after the storm, the number was at approximately 250,000.

The problem is that the number of people without power hasn’t gone down in the last 18 hours!
11:30 pm Friday night is not Friday, it’s Saturday as far as I’m concerned. I did not see one crew anywhere in central Lakewood yesterday, neither did others I’ve spoken to. Just saying.

7th Street Ridge area was not “HIT HARD” and yet the power is still down. There are NO DOWNED WIRES, NO TREES ON WIRES ETC…
The problem is NO ONE FROM JCP&L has bothered to come by.
They had a truck last night search the area for downed trees in the area…
Send a truck NOW who can repair the transformer or whatever else may be the issue
Can’t they bring in other workers from different states as PA to help ? It is supposed to get warmer the next days and no one sees any activity in Lakewood. Will be unbearable to wait till Friday night.
JCP&L needs to get its act together. Power off from Monday until Friday night after a small storm is ridiculous. This is not Hurricane Sandy. Most of Ocean County has power. Only Lakewood and Jackson are a problem.
Last night, JCL&L turned off the electricity for some Lakewood residents overnight and still didn’t turn it back on.
There is something fishy going here.

May i ask all my Dear Friends here a simple question. I preface that i did lose power! Who exactly are you screaming,complaining to by commenting on Lakewood scope. Let me teach you a very simple rule in life called ACTION Something Lakewood Residents don’t know how to do!!!If it really upsets you the situation and you truly feel your being abused then ACT. ACT some examples,make a mass complaining call to jcpl once power is restored, organize thousands to demand lower bill next 3 months, protest, call vaad!!!!!! call your elected politicians and demand more action then they’re doing always can do more,etc. Don’t just sit by screaming to walls or commenting on scope or you’ll end up like our infrastructure,traffic,building,lack of tznius in Lkwd ended up.Thank you.
so practically, what can be done to find out the real deal? what’s going on, how do we take action with this? why aren’t any officials using their power to take care of the community? why isn’t any one of the higher ups doing anything? what can we do?

If all you commenters know so much about how simple it is to fix a power outage caused from excessive heat and then a serious storm, why don’t y’all go out and fix it yourselves?

Ques: What should I think when things do not go my way and I am disappointed.
Ans: It’s a reminder from Hashem that YOU do not run the world. Hashem runs the world.
That is the very important message that should be learned.
As one who did not have power for a day and a half I find that it is a lesson worth learning.
The previous posters are 100% right.
By Sandy they brought in crews from OHIO and had almost everyone back on line in a few days. Monday’s storm was nothing compared to Sandy and it’s taking twice as long.
There is no excuse for this.

Before you judge on people complaining about power, try it for a few days and you’ll never judge them again.
We had have power now Thank G-D , but is 2012 when Sandy hit , we lost power from Monday evening till Shabbos morning- it was a horrendous experience which I don’t wish on anyone.
If you have power , be grateful, but don’t judge.

During one of the storms my family lost power for 2 full weeks. Guess what, we survived. JCPL workers are working around the clock to fix the situation. They are not even going home to their families. So STOP complaining and you will certainly get power back soon. When has this world become so demanding, entitled and judgmental? Appreciate what you have. This is a temporary situation.
