No reason to. The driver turned around. Clearly they simply made a mistake

Video doesn’t work.
Very similar thing happened to my husband on rt 528 a couple of weeks ago at 5:30am. He saw head lights coming towards him and fast. He has a split secound to switch to on coming traffic (bh there were no cars coming) a Nais. Boruch Hashem.
If there’s a shoulder they say you’re supposed to move over to the right, to there. Otherwise, if the wrong way driver realizes his mistake at the last moment and corrects his position it will again be a position of a head on collision.
Wow. I’ve wondered what causes drivers to make this mistake. Have any studies ever been done?
I did this once a few years ago on West County Line Road in Jackson.
I was shocked when I realized what I’d done because I always think doing something like that could never happen to me. I realized something was wrong only after a full minute of driving when I came to an intersection where I saw a traffic light and wondered how strange it was that it was backwards.. when it suddenly registered in my head in all its shocking feeling.
I wasn’t used to the concept of County Line Road having a concrete divider in the middle between the 2 directions and I thought it made sense that there was only one lane in each direction, so when I made a left from a small dark road coming from North I thought for sure I was going to the correct part of the road, the right side of a single lane in each direction highway stretch.
I was shocked by the neis that there hadn’t been any cars at that time of night in that stretch besides mine, and I was also feeling stupid and hoping no one saw and would post a video of my car somewhere.
