DASHCAM VIDEO: This video needs no explanation. Captured by one our dashcam team videographers, this video shows an extremely dangerous move, which could have resulted in a serious collision.
The incident occurred at approximately 4 PM on Sunday.
This video and other similar ‘Caught on Camera’ videos are posted on TLS as an awareness to drivers to use more caution on the roads, and perhaps prevent serious accidents by exercising more courteous driving habits. TLS-24 A/B.
I suspect what happened is he was in a store/gas station waiting to turn left onto route 9. Got frustrated and impatient that he was waiting too long and decided to take a drive up rt 9 the wrong way until he could squeeze into traffic. A pretty harmless move I am sure he figured. Except people die ever year because of imbicals like him. Little babies are killed because of inconsiderate people like him. Whole families are wiped out ever day because of slime like him.
Hey buddy – if you are reading this.. please turn in your license, sell your car and devote the rest of your life to being a better person, because this behavior clearly demonstrates that you care for NO one but yourself and the world has no room for people like that.

The guy taking the video isn’t much better himself. He’s way over the yellow line. At the very beginning you can see the SUV in the left-turn lane on the other side swerving around him.
I must say I see things like this all the time in this town …. just the other day a person was trying to squeeze between my vehicle and the one in front of me so he could make a left onto Kennedy Blvd from the shell station and when I beeped my horn to try to get him to look at me so I could signal him to stop because there was another car coming up the turn lane he just ignored it and pulled out …. needless to say … yup he got hit so although this video is no suprise I honestly think it will take the combination of much more ticket writing by the LPD and many more people getting severly hurt and or killed in accidents before people even begin to think about it
A few days ago, I was driving with my wife and kids in NY on a two-lane road, and suddenly my lane became a left-turn-only lane. I slowed down to make the left turn, even though we were headed straight, but I didn’t want to do anything illegal.
My wife immediately told me not to turn, because it would waste precious time. Instead, she told me, I should just go back to the other lane and continue straight, like our original plan.
I calmly told her that we don’t drive illegally. I slowed down and made the left turn, drove around until we got back onto the main road, and then continued to our destinantion. It took an extra five minutes, but my kids learned an important lesson. And my wife is so proud!!!
I wrote the above story to make people aware how simple and easy it is to do what’s right. And even if your wife (or anyone else) thinks you’re crazy for following the letter of the law, she will end up being proud when you stick to your principles.

who cares worry about the idiots running stop signs, or stopping in the middle of route 9 to drop people off pick people up…..ooo well driving in lakewood is like dodging bullets!

The police should take the video, enhance it, get the tag number, then have MVC contact the owner, find out who was driving then revoke… not suspend but revoke the drivers liscense for doing such a stupid act. Again as said many times on the scoop… Only in Lakewood
I just saw an ACADAMY bus do such a crazy move on Rt 9 between 1st street & main street.
