DASHCAM VIDEO: Not all rear-ended accidents are caused by the back car, and this video can prove it while capturing multiple driving violations. In the video, captured by a driver’s dashcam Sunday evening, shows a near-accident on County Line Road when a driver – apparently in a rush – cuts into the turn-only lane at the last second to avoid getting stuck behind two other vehicles. The driver did so in the rain, and without using the blinkers.
After cutting into the turn-only lane, the driver then cut back into his original lane, ahead of the other vehicles.
Besides for nearly causing an accident, the driver could have been issued several summonses for the violations.
This video and other similar ‘Caught on Camera’ videos are posted on TLS as an awareness to drivers to use more caution on the roads, and perhaps prevent serious accidents by exercising more courteous driving habits. TLS-MJK.
It’s got to stop. It’s happening more and more.
welcome to the lakewood area…where drivers are always on the defensive.
Wow – its a shame you cannot see the license plate, or else I would walk into police headquarters and have multiple tickets issued to this danger, reckless, inconsiderate lakewood driver.
We need to ticket more often.
i have the plate # who do i send it to
police should give more tickets. there should be an official drive for it
There are so many inconsiderate drivers who make up their own rules about driving. For instance I was behind someone in a right turn only lane, waiting to turn right. I could have turned sooner had he not been in front of me, because after waiting a while , he decided to go straight (he was not signalling). And then there was the one that was in the left turn or straight only lane, next to a right turn lane, and all of a sudden he decides to make a right turn. These guys are dangerous!
Just a friendly reminder.
It is Ilegal and against the law to drive, or pass on the shoulder.
That means if the car in front of you is waiting to turn left, you CANNOT go around him on the shoulder. The shoulder is for pedestrians, cyclists, disabled vehicles and emergency vehicles. In the eye of the law, it is no different than driving on the sidewalk. You will get a ticket AND four points on your license. DO NOT pass on the shoulder.
Thank you for that reminder. I remembered it when I was tempted to pass a car turning left and there was a person walking on the shoulder. I would not have seen her had I done that foolish act.
??? everybody does it
who doesnt drive on the sholder? only when passing I mean
WOW I read the comments and all of you say give more tickets….. I go to other posts and they say why are the cops writing tickets there is real crime to fight…… MAKE UP YOUR MINDS!!!!
How about the people that are caught should have to wear “special ” clothing and made to do public service work. Maybe if a “Big Macher ” is caught on film and made to stand up and be accountable publicly things may change.
You don’t know he could have had an emergency and could not wait!
Also can you imagine the traffic back up if no one passed on the right to go around a left turner. The next time you pass someone look at how far back the traffic would be if you didn’t pass on the right.
To #13 you are right, wow!
Can you imagine how much less traffic backup there would be if people went through red lights? Its time to start driving through red lights because we are so concerned about traffic backingup, so the laws do not apply.
I was jogging on the shoulder of a street with no sidewalk and a dufus such as yourself swerved onto the shoulder because he was too lazy to wait for the car in front of him to turn left. I heard his car, turned and saw him barreling towards me at over 50MPH, I jumped out of the way, but the side of his car hit me. He kept going, and I have had chronic pain since. It could have been MUCH worse. He could have hit me and I could have died. He could have hit the mother walking with her baby carriage, or the car stranded with a flat tire. BUT THAS OKAY, because he was preventing a backup of traffic, and that my friend, is much more nobler than obeying the law and keeping people safe.

If you have the plate number, you can take it to Lakewood Police depot. with the video and the owner of the car will get the summons. The only problem with that is the driver always says that wasn’t him or her driving the car that day. That they lent it out to a family member or a friend. The other thing I would like to say is to the posters about driving on the shoulder. I agree it is dangerous and illegal, but people should not be walking on the shoulder of the road either. I too many times drive on Kennedy Blvd and see people walking on the shoulder of the road on the same side where the sidewalk is and in the same area in a community I won’t name people constantly walk or stand in the street talking. That as well is dangerous and ILLEGAL. It is called J-walking and obstruction of traffic flow. I would like to know how I can give people tickets for this because I have asked the same people over and over please walk on the sidewalk and cross at the corners. Also please talk on the sidewalk or grassy area over there. But no one pays any attention to me or will give me names to give tickets and by the time police get there they are gone and last weekend I wanted to scream because I am driving around the circle to my home and the kids are playing a game and leaning into the street to look like they are about to go into it and no parent was telling them to stop. I could keep going on but it is enough already
I’ve passed on shoulders many times with cops behind me and never did I get issued a summons. Please confirm that this is illegal.
It is assur to be a mossar and give the police this license plate number
To $ 17 and others
Straight from the NJ drivers Manual

These drivers are the same drivers that after they hurt or kill someone cry they did not mean it.. Wake up & take responsability for your driving before it is too late & the results end in tragedy.. Because if I was a mom of a child hit or killed by you, I woul not want to hear your appologies..
the prob is , if the police start issueing more tickets more frum will be ticketed. then it will become a issue with people saying that the police are only ticketing the frum. it happened a few years back and the police were getting picked on for writing tickets. its not that they are picking on the jewish community its just so many more jewish drivers . frankley if you drive thru lakewood 9 out of every 10 cares is a jewish or mexican person. so if the police start a ticket writing blitz like howell guess who will complain the most ????
if you are stuck in traffic or slow moving traffic on rt 9 or the like, and someone needs to get in and you don’t have anythig to lose anyway, it would be a mitzva and a kiddush hashem if you give some one else a break.some people are so caught up in their selfishness or talking on the cell phone they don’t even give it a thought.also people talking on a cellphone or not using a seat belt, should get a hefty fine!!! most people who get killed in an car accident aren’t wearing a seat belt and get thrown from the car and die or seriously injured.
It is not mesirah to give the license plate. The guy is a rodeif.
There are plenty of drivers out there who do not use their turn signals when they drive, It`s plain rude and discusting. It mixes up all the other drivers on the road. The Police in Brooklyn hardly use their turn signals, so why would they enforce the law?
Hey #14
While you were jogging were you listing to your ipod and running with traffic or against traffic.
When I drive on the shoulder I drive very slow and only if it is clear. First thing to remember when driving LOOK where you are going. I have been driving in Lakewood for over 30 years and never had an accident nor a close call. I look before I go and make sure it is clear. You on the other hand must drive like a total NUT JOB and think that is the way every one else drives.
If its mesira to hand over the plate to the cops then its mesira to call the cops when u have a fender bender. U wanna say that insurance requires it? Who cares. If mesira is assur it should be assur at a fender bender too. Boottom line ,rav kanievsky and rav elyashiv both paskind that its a cheeyuv to call the cops on a driver who puts himself and others in danger.
