A frightening incident in Toms River was caught on a dashcam, exclusively obtained by TLS.
As a child was getting off the school bus on North Maple, a vehicle can be seen apparently deliberately passing the bus on the shoulder.
The child’s mother, apparently frightened by seeing the car pass the bus, can be seen running toward the bus to get her child.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Toms River Police Department.
I think I understand what happened.
The driver of the car has no little children. He or she knew for sure that their child is definitely not on this bus.
If it’s your child–who cares??
The main thing is that my child is alive and well.
I wonder if this guy was on his way to an appointment with an employer looking to hire and just maybe that was the child of the employer or the one giving the interview.

THE CAR DRIVER THOUGHT THE BUS WAS TURNING. Not saying he is right still way wrong, but the busses need to stoop with this dangerous and illegal practice of turning into oncoming traffic. This is exactly why it is illegal. Both should be ticketed ..
The whole purpose of the yellow flashing lights is to warn the other vehicles that the bus is about to stop. The law is that you are not allowed to pass the back or front corner of the bus when it has its red lights activated.
As far as bus drivers going into oncoming traffic, as a parent that has demanded my kid’s drivers do this, I can tell you that this is done due to way to many close calls with kids crossing in front of the bus and cars not stopping.
Then you are putting your children at risk. As you can see here. This is a dangerous and ILEAGAL practice. You are demanding that they break the law and put kids’ lives in danger. Think about that!! It does not make them safer.
Where do you get off telling a bus driver how to drive?
Plain and simple the car thought the bus was turning left.
Red means STOP!
I dont care what the driver thought the bus was doing.
If the red lights are on, STOP. End of conversation.
The amount of people ignoring ALL traffic laws is absolutely ridiculous.
When are people going to wake up and do the right thing?!
