Dashcam Video Captures Bachur Attacked by Dog in Lakewood

A Bachur walking from the Brookhill neighborhood in Lakewood along County Line Road to Brook Road today was chased by an unleashed dog (reportedly belonging to the home at that corner), and tripped and injured himself.

As the dog began attacking him on the ground, the Bachur got up and continued running, with the dog chasing him.

A driver – whose dashcam captured the incident – began honking and the dog backed off.

  1. Is there not a leash law in Lakewood?
This could have been far worse.
As it is, if he was bitten, the shots are a painful
    Refuah Shlaima.

  2. That house is dangerous and they don’t take the necessary precautions. The police have been called to that house many times and nothing changes! Someone needs to sue.

  3. Showing you’re afraid just urges the dog to chase more. Walk with authority not all timid, and yes this dog should have been kept on a leash or inside a fenced area but it wasn’t an attack, at the same time the owners at 1021 e county line Rd need to step up and take accountability as well as securing their dog properly. Dogs should not be put down unless they have bitten or attacked someone outright.

    • Agreed! Definitely should be on a leash. Stories about dogs getting aggressive are said about even the tamest dogs.

That being said, growing up around neighbors with dogs, you can recognize if it’s trying to attack you or if it’s just a playful chase.
This was definitely dog thinking your playing.

  4. I hope the Scoop keeps us updated on what happens with this dog. I am a big dog lover however this one needs to be put down. That was no playing around. At least, the owners must get a tremendous fine. I hope he presses charges.

  5. Only sick dogs stick up for other sick dogs.

This dog should be put down, no need to wait until he is actually successful in biting someone.
