VIDEO: The Dash-cam guy is at it again, catching all types of serious violations on camera, helping out the community by bringing these occurrences to the attention of motorists. This video was submitted to TLS with the following description: Hi, Caught on Dashcam is yet another driver passing in a no passing zone. Not only was this driver tailgating, which is a 5 POINT offense, the driver passed in a no passing zone, which is a 4 POINT offense. Plus, speeding (I was driving the EXACT speed limit of 40 MPH), which carries a minimum of 2 POINTS, and the reckless driving, which is a 5 POINT driving violation. That’s at least 16 POINTS! To the driver – Is driving this recklessly worth accumulating all those points, losing your license? Not to mention that immediately after illegally passing, you got stuck behind a long line of traffic?
This video and other similar ‘Caught on Camera’ videos are posted on TLS for all to see as an awareness to use more caution on the roads, and perhaps prevent serious accidents by exercising more courteous driving habits. By Hoblitt.
silver acura TL, with on right rear tail light out.
ill be watching for you.
PS: was passed EXACTLY like this by a 1999 silver nissan altima (ny plates) with 2 gentlemen inside.
they did this right in front of a west long branch police officer in west long branch. safe to say, they were pulled over & issued.
here is a freindly reminder:
here are a few suggestions
from a plain driver
#1 hang up the phone hang up right now.
#2 realize that a second too late is not the end of the world
slow down,obey all speed limits
#3 if you see kids playing slowwwwwwwwwww down
#4 hitching should be illegal parents we need your help tell your sons the dangers of hitching
#5 a wall of cones or safety sticks should be erected on forest avenue
especially from 6th to 4th street the U-turns are crazy
#6 ok now here we need help from the pedestrians
CROSS ONLY AT CROSS WALKS
#7when heading out of town give yourself double time
#8 familiarize yourself with alternate routes that avoid route 9
#9 seatbelts
#10 smile and enjoy our pretty town
What if the driver hurt someone. He should be identified & shinned by the community before it is too late!!!!!
So should we all be taking dash cam pictures of people on the phone, ignoring stop signs, speeding in developments and so on and pass the pics on to the police? If we get the license plates can the offenders get tickets on the strength of the dash cam pictures? Maybe we’ll even get a picture of the dash cam guy driving unsafely while filming the offenders. What doors this could open up for the town!!
So, dash cam guy, you have video evidence, you can make out the plate. Why don’t you go downtown and file a complaint? I really think you should. People like this only learn the hard way.
you can file a complaint against a driver who is committing a motor vehicle violation , just remember you have to go to court to testify ,with all the bad drivers in this town you would be in court 7 days a week
I live in Brick and I thought we had it bad there!! If you were doing the limit of 40, this guy was doing at least 70 as he blew passed you, on the other side of the road no less… when will people learn that rushing will only lead to accidents and deaths, as my granpa used to say.. oy gevald
If I came upon someone driving at exactly the speed limit, I’d pass him aggressively too. Who drives at the speed limit?
Thank you for once again showing us that NONE of our streets are safe. Is this really where we want our children playing? There are so many children out today on bikes, scooters, etc. Please drive more responsibly! And parents- WATCH your kids outdoors at all times, never trust an adult driver to slow down for children!
The dash cam guy is right if, but he’s too ful of righteous indignation.
Most people would be frustrated driving behind a guy doing exactly 45MPH on Pine street for example.
Who drives at the speed limit??? Anyone who follows the law and knows that driving is not a right, its a privilege.. so , you have some kind of calculation about how much past the speed limit its okay to drive? is it 5, 10, 20 mph?
it is called the speed LIMIT for a reason. Good luck explaining your rationale to a cop when you get pulled over, get a speeding ticket, 4 points on your license, $300 fine and increase in your car insurance. You won’t be laughing then, I assure you!
He used his blinkers. lol
The speed limit is made with the intention that most people drive up to 10 M.P.H. above it.
#2 you hit every point right on the head as to your #4 point, that hitching should be illegal, it is illegal to hitch-hike, and for the people that stop to pick them up, here’s another satey tip, do not I repeat do NOT stop in the middle of the road to pick-up or discharge people, talk about another safety hazzard, if you feel the need to do these things pull off the road.

On the highway I go at least 72mph if not more in a 65mph zone. On a 55mph highway most drivers go at least 70mph. I don’t think the highway speeds are realistic. But, in a residential zone, I don’t dare go more than the speed limit because of pedestrians who may be crossing.
Everyone with their chesboynim.. i go 7.3 mph over the limit if its a tuesday, i only go 11.5 mph over the limit if its a full moon.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
It is AGAINST THE LAW to go above the speed limit, what part of that do you not get?/
the fact, that the guy used his signal takes off 10 points
take your video down to the police department, the police will sign the ticket and use your video as evidence. thanks dcg
I say # 8 is right. Who drives the speed limit! Laws are meant to be broken and I don’t think people have the right to complain about it unless somone gets killed.
You know how often does this happen to you cause to me I haven’t had that done to me in the last 5 years I’m gonna guess the dash cam guy doesn’t know to drive how does this always happen to him.
and second how do u manage to turn the camera on while you are driving keep your hands on the wheel
:-]
thank you and very well said! ps hitch hiking is illegal
I was driving west on Central Avenue before dawn and I was doing less than the speed limit. Three deer crossed my path and I missed them by a foot. It was near that spot where that poor policeman crashed. There are other threats to our safety than reckless drivers.
to me it looks like the dash-cam-guy is going slower than the speed limit. maybe his hazard lights are on, maybe he is waving people by.
it seems like he’s provoking people…. these types of video camera addicts do tend to provoke something so they can catch it on film.
I’m having trouble understanding some of the rationalizations people have posted here. How can you complain about people driving the speed limit?
Did you know that driving even 1 mile over the speed limit, can result in a 2 POINT moving violation on your driver’s license?
I have a question for all those who oppose upholding the law. Are you prepared to be responsible for causing injuries or fatalities? Every time you speed, pass illegally, tailgate, etc. you are also taking upon yourself the responsibility of anything that may go wrong in the process.
You should really patent your ability to look at a video and know if a car is doing the speed limit or not. better yet, you can tell that he is waving cars by, even though you cant see any hands!
mayb the guy had an emergency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why wont you post my comment?
Yeah good point. sarcasm/
But that still doesn’t give him/her to drive like that and endanger everyone else on the road. You have an emergency call the proper authorities, thats why they are there.

If there was an emergency, that’s no excuse. They could be the next emergency or cause one for some one else.
