Cyclist Hospitalized After Being Struck by Vehicle in Lakewood; “A Helmet Would Have Prevented This” [PHOTOS]

A cyclist is being hospitalized with a head injury after being struck by a vehicle in Lakewood a short time ago.

The incident happens at the entrance to Gourmet Glatt Plaza north, on Kennedy Boulevard.

“Had he been wearing a helmet, he would have been fine,” a first responder said.

The patient is being transported with non life-threatening injuries.

  1. When I was hit by a car while riding a bike (it was the drivers fault, he made a left turn without looking past the oncoming traffic) I had some pretty gnarly injuries, but despite going headfirst through the guys windshield I survived without brain injuries thanks to my helmet.
