A Lakewood Mesivta has sent home all its students after dozens came down with Covid, TLS has learned.
Some Bachurim were not feeling well, and went to get tested for Covid, coming back positive. Multiple others then tested positive as well.
As a precaution, the Yeshiva announced on Friday it was temporarily shutting down, and sent all Bachurim home.
The Delta variant has been making its way around Lakewood, though there have been few reported hospitalizations as a result.
Additionally, TLS has learned, some schools are regularly testing students and staff.
Really genius. So now they’re going to spread it all over. Why didn’t the all stay there?
Um… To go home and infect their parents?!
They decided to start Bein Hazmanim early, and shift the responsibility for caring for these boys on their families.
Right, or wrong, what would YOU have done? Would you wish to assume achrayos for these talmidim’s lives?
Yaakov and Nathan, mesivtos in Lakewood are high schools for local boys- not dorm yeshivas. These boys all live at home- they simply closed the school.
I just got Covid 2 days ago. If you get it, ask your DR about Plasma (monocronal infusion). It works miracles in just 12 hours.
Call chemed.
Schools need to vigilant. Delta is very contagious even in kids. Unlike the previous variants. My kids school is doing absolutely nothing as far as precautions. Hashem Yerachem.
You dont need to have schools take precautions. If you want you could give your kids vitamin c, d, and zinc. If your kid is high risk, he could get ivermectin as a preventative. Young kids usually get a cold when they get covid. Why do they have to be concerned about this?
Unless you are a doctor you should not be giving medical advice.
Huge number of doctors have been very wrong when it comes to covid and treating it because they just parrot the CDC. The few that actually used their own sechel and knew what they were talking about said what I am saying.
Who even said there’s a dorm
Most of the bochurim live in Lakewood and sleep at home. Many of their family members already had Covid last year. This is hitting those that didn’t yet get Covid. Schools and Yeshivos should keep cleanliness and hygiene like paper towels by sinks, hand sanitizers and disinfecting tables every day. Have a safe and healthy Yom Tov!
Can you please tell us which Yeshiva this was so that people who may have come in contact can get checked and isolate? We do not want this to become a super spreader!
@anonymous, that is not true delta is not anymore dangerous for kids as any other variant also if you were so worried keep your kids home.
Time for schools to start checking for Covid regularly, the way they fear and check for…. knits.
Kids spreading Covid is not to be taken lightly.
If all the kids get covid they can serve as a buffer for adults not to catch covid. They have a very low viral load, and they will also get robust immunity. Testing kids is abusive. Just treat.
I would like to know if the yeshiva would have closed down like this if it had been the flu?
If C”V one needs to be hospitalized due Covid please don’t wait until it’s too late and your taken to the closest hospital which may not have the plasma or hydrooxychlorquine
If possible go to university of pa hospital which is giving these treatments the end results and health of those taken their have had a much better outcome
From someone who’s been at both hospitals
YOU NEED to wear you masks!
What I said was that the delta variant is very contagious in children. There is plenty of data ( studies ) that backs that up. Kids can spread to others who are more vulnerable. Also there is some indication that the Delta variant is more varialant, which means it may be more dangerous than previous strains.
your to busy shouting to see if your comment is spelled correctly.
Uh oh dear “mayo!” You really shouldn’t be commenting on others’ spelling before checking your own, to wit: it’s “you’re” (not “your”) and “too” [busy], (not “to”). Just sayin’.
Covid is a joke take ivermectin it’s gone in 6 hours my wife had it I gave it to her by the next morning all symptoms were gone no deaths in over a year why are we still talking about this cold
Are you a doctor? If not you should not be giving medical advice.
