I would never have thought the Corzine campaign would reach to the Lakewood community less than a week before election. It looks like they are pretty desperate…
Does anybody know the major issues in this campaign? Where I live, all that is said is that after the historic election of Obama, Democrats are not doing too great, and there is a good chance that NJ might elect the Republican.

The LAC was well represented it would appear (even if they did forget their ties at home).

The question is: why?

Please remember when voting a win for Corzine is a win for higher taxes guarenteed.

why is every politician that comes to lakewood visiting schi??

The issue here is our pocketbooks. Christie supports SCHOOL VOUCHERS. Corzine does not. If the VAAD and LAC really have the Kehilla’s best interst at heart, why are they not voting for Christie? The answer is as sad as it is simple. $$ Everyone important in the pictures at SCHI have been promised $ by Corzine in one form or another if he wins. I will be voting for Christie and I wonder why every Mossad in town is not supporting him? Where is the Igud Hamosdos? NOW is the time for you to stand up and be counted. Rabbosai, can you imagine not having to pay tuition? That is what Christie is offering

christie said he would give school vouchers and lower taxes while corzine said he’ll raise taxes but give money to schi so the question is do we care about all mosdos and everychild or do we care about only the special education children

Vouchers is a dream thatis impossible, it is against the constitution for them to give vouchers to a religious school. In NJ it will never happen, Christie is saying this because the School Union came out against him but he also knows it will never happen.

Tls Why was there no warning that there are pictures of women on this post ? You usually put that warning in your other posts where there are women .

Elementary and High School public education funding in New Jersey has been historically covered by local real estate taxes. Any voucher plan for private school children, even if ever passed, would surely be no different. There is not a single Senator or Assemblyman who supports State funded vouchers. We would of course love to see a State funded Voucher bill for private school kids, which would make a fundamental difference in our lives. None of the candidates support such a bill, its passage won’t happen, and State funding for it is non-existing. (Even current State Mandated services are being paid by local taxes without the State reimbursing what they promised. Mandated busing gets 15% reimbursement with the local district paying 85%).

The reception appears very disorganized. Somebody from SCHI or A. Kotler should have walked with the Governor and not have him aimlessly wonder around shaking hands with all the fans of this Godol.

Dear TLS editor:

I respectfully ask you to reconsider putting ‘warnings’ by the videos that they contain pictures of women. Some women undoubtely find it offensive ( I know at least one who did). You would agree that it’s better to follow the Torah which commands us to avoid hurting the feelings of another, than the Taliban-based minhag.

Thank you.

Why do almost all political events take place at Schi? Do they represent the entire tzibur and the tziburs interests? It is a very choshuva and good mosod but it is only one of hundreds in town. How much funding do they receive, what is their yearly budget? Please inform us.

I also question the people invited to partake. It is the same people all the time. Who does the Vaad represent? Does anyone on the Vaad have conflicting interests. Do any of them have business dealings with the Town or State? How about our own township committee do they have any conflicts of interest? Do they do any business with the town or state? Do members of the Vaad and or Township committee own or operate Real estate in the town?

I believe it is time to say enough of the tzibur being sacrificed for individual self interests. Emes must prevail and we all must do something about it. How much longer will we continue to whine and cry about the unjust. We all of us must take action once and for all. Let us set up a Vaad that addresses the interests and needs of everyone. And we must speak up to those politicians and askanim that claim they are doing for the tzibur while all they do is profit for themselves.

They only put warnings about the women when the women are not politically connected. Women who are part of the Hock are Muttar to look at.

I wasn’t there but I like to think I am smart enough to figure out which issue was discussed in the parts of the video you left out (duh). It seems Rabbi Blech had the guts to confront him on the Toeveh bill. Why leave this out? It is critical that we see this (that there are still Yidden who stand up for what is right albeit in a Bkavodeke manner). And I would be curious to see the end as well when Corzine seemed to respond to that issue as well.

to “To All” at 3:33,

You are seriously mistaken.

Vouchers are NOT against the US Constitution, nor in violation of the NJ Constitution. You obviously could use some reading up on the sugya.. So start with the landmark case of “Zelman vs. Simmons-Harris” at 536 U.S. 639 (2002) [See http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/00-1751.ZS.html ] where the U.S. Supreme Court clearly ruled that a voucher program where tuition aid is distributed to the parents, is 100 percent in accordance with the Constitution.

Face it. This is the law of the land.

(The only real obstacle to a Voucher program in NJ is the strong political pressure from the NJEA whose primary interest is to protect the public school’s pockets)

At the SCHI Meeting Today

Note Aaron Kotler’s mention of Corzine’s support for widening Route 9 in his opening remarks (Video 2).

Compare this to the post a few above this where the LAC trumpets “pressing” the Governor on this issue, making it the centerpiece of their press release following the meeting.

The LAC is gaining a reputation for insinuating themselves into issues which have already been decided and letter taking the credit for the hard work of others in an effort to pad their political resume. This seems to be more of the same. They did it with Title 1, taking credit for the the dilligent efforts of Meir Hertz and orthers and the intervention of Aaron Kotler and they’re doing it today.

Don’t fall for the chicanery!

In Lakewood Democracy doesn’t exist. A Democrat and a Republican can run together. Just look at the upcoming Township election. Lakewood reminds me of the Government that existed in South Africa.

To all those who ask why in schi. Let me explain schi is one of the most remarkable institutions in the jewish communities, the yearly budget may be much and there may be lots of politics that surround schi but every penny is worth it.no one should chas veshalom know of having a child with any disability but if each person commenting would stop for a second and think b4 writing a shameful comment such as what’s the budget or why schi gets all this media attention they deserve it its not easy reguardless of what ppl say. A big thank you to rabbi nachman greenwald and the staff at schi your avodas hashem is greatly admired worldwide may you be zoche to many happy and healthy years to help the holy children of schi
