JUST IN: Gov. Jon Corzine has selected state Sen. Loretta Weinberg (D-Bergen) as his running mate for lieutenant governor, two Democrats close to the governor said today.The governor will announce his decision Saturday in Bergen County, said the sources, who asked not to be named in advance of Corzine’s official announcement. Corzine settled on Weinberg today over the other leading contender, state Sen. Barbara Buono (D-Middlesex). Weinberg, known as a reformer who bucked her own county party machinery, could help Corzine win votes in Bergen, a key county that could go Republican. Read full AP report here.
