[PHOTO of event with Marta] This evening, a fundraiser dinner was held for Democratic Township Committee Candidate Marta Harrison ahead of next week’s elections. The event – which took place at Yussis Deli in Westgate – was attended by several Askonim, community leaders and officials who came to show appreciation and support for the one time Lakewood Township Committee member and Mayor.
Marta Harrison, who retired from public office in 2003, has served on the Lakewood Housing Authority and on the Board of NJ HAND.
Her plan for the future she says, is to to return Fiscal Responsibility, reduce runaway legal and professional costs, increase shared services and ensure all members in the community are treated with fairness and respect.
Marta faces Republican Candidate Isaac Akerman in next Tuesday’s general elections.

Marta Harrison is good. But now we can have better.
Giving money to a campaign that doesn’t have a snowballs chance in the dessert of winning is called baal taschis. However I think the people that were there were there to show support to the hosts of the party meyer and ray rather than to marta. So going to the party was a nice gesture to meyer and ray but to give any money would be called “wasteful spending” I don’t think marta harrison would tell you with a straight face that she has a chance of winning.

Its good to see Meir is a erliche yid and supports the person that he feels is the best one for the Lakewood community. He feels Martha is the better candidate otherwise he wouldn’ support her. He is a tzadik.
