Committeeman Meir Lichtenstien: Park Vehicles In Your Driveway

meir lichtenstienURGENT: TLS just spoke with Township Committeeman Meir Lichtenstien who asked that all vehicles be kept off roads so that the Department of Public Works can get the heavy and wet snow cleaned from the roads before Purim. “The Department will be doubling their efforts, but there must be cooperation from the residents” he said. “If you cannot park in a driveway, residents should arrange to park one side of  street so that at least one side can get properly cleaned. On behalf of the Township Committee, Meir Lichtenstien would like to wish all residents ‘A Freilichin Purim’.

  1. It would be nice if everyone listened to this request in consideration of all of Lakewood, so that it would be a lot easier to drive around on Purim. Thank you very much!

  2. I disagree We all witnessed from last storm how they asked us to park in driveways yet they did not plow up to the curb they left 4-5 feet of snow on the side of the road denying parking for 2 weeks. I rather leave my car there and shovel out thus having parking ,

  3. Brook Hill needs to be plowed better(cleaning) they never put salt. Trucks come into brookhill they don’t put down the shovel to clean at all.

Please. Mayer Tell them to clean Brook Hill

  4. #5 & #7 Please I beg you. leave your car on the street. this way when i pile all the snow from the block ON your car I will be the last one laughing. We ask everyone to pull the cars off the street so we can plow from side to side. Its not perfect but we do, do our best.

To everyone else thank you for all your help. again we will do our best so that right after the sabbath you will have clean roads for your holiday.

    Happy Holiday’s

  5. Please Please do a better job in Brookhill. It was and always is the worst place to be after the snow. Mr Meyer Tell them to do a good job this time. Kids buses could not come into the complex for 2 full weeks last time. We need proper shoveling down to the floor!!!!! and not just one little path.
    Thanking you in advance

yOU STILL AVOIDED THE QUESTION OK SO GO AHEAD AND PILE THE SNOW ON MY CAR ( ILL JUST HAVE TO USE THE ONE THAT IS IN THE DRIVWAY )
ILL ASK IT AGAIN WHERE DO U EXPECT US TO PUT THE CARS?? IF YOU CAN READ YOU WILL SEE THAT I WROTE THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM ON ONE SIDE OF THE STREET BECUASE THE TOWNSHIP ALLOWED MORE HOUSES THEN THERE IS SPACE SO THAT THEY CAN HIRE VERY “SMART ” PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO ARE TO LAZY TO DO THE JOB

  7. To “tax payer” I hope they bury your car that u almost can’t c it ! He asked a simple request that u should do a little and he will do a lot but u want to complain

  8. Mr. Plow Driver,
Please drive down my block and stop by my house for some hot coffee and a snack. Or even a full meal.
You work crazy shifts under difficult conditions. There are people out there who actually appreciate it, myself included.
Thank You, Thank You, & Thank You.

  9. I am with #13 these drivers work until the snow is done. Its hard to do what they do. I know I used to plow snow..there is never enough places to put the snow, especially after 3 storms in a month. Even when you park your cars on the street, the plows are approximately 10′ wide. Its called a Road Plow for a reason. If the road is 15 or 20 feet wide you need that truck for at least 2-3 passes on the road. Please give the drivers a break..keep at the least half of the street clear..then they can get down them and you can drive on them. Also remember, its not that they don’t care..but Lakewood is 24.8 square miles, that is a lot of road space..it takes time to complete..just relax and give them the time to work. It does get done..just takes time..and the more snow there is the longer it takes.

  10. No one is upset at the plow drivers. we want them to plow from curb to curb which they did NOT do in the previous storm despite residents cooperating and parking in their driveways.
