“There may be additional cuts to the budget”, Township Committeeman, and BOE Budget Committee Liaison Isaac Akerman told TLS this afternoon. Although it’s not yet final, Akerman says if there are cuts, “they will in no way be harming education”.
For the last several days, Akerman met several Board Of Education members, as well as several residents from the public with education experience, in order to find ways to cut the $70.3 million BOE budget even more, as earlier reported on TLS.
The budget, which failed in the election, will be presented to the Board of Education this evening.
keep up the good work dont be afraid to do more
Isaac you are what this town needs. Isaac for Mayor!!
CUT CUT CUT!!!
This is what the voters told you!
Jackson lowered the school tax by 1 million dollars. We should accept nothing less
Akerman says if there are cuts, “they will in no way be harming education”.
what other funds are there if not being usded for education??
How come this doesn’t translate into lower Township budget? Why are we being told the new budget won’t go up??? It should go down!
Albert as usual you will do what’s right. Keep up the good work.
you want to cut 1 million then you’ll be left with nothing- surely no busing. probably no books either.
if you cut busing taxpayers will save 15 to 20 mil !!!
thats’s right, it’s all about the money!!
Mr. Akerman, I voted for you but I believe you made serious mistakes by not cutting the BOE budget the way you should of.
Instead of preaching popular “cut, cut, cut” slogans, please specify where and how much. Then offer better alternatives. Otherwise, please hold your meaningless comments.
