Police say there were eighteen Motor Vehicle Accidents reported in Lakewood yesterday. Most of the accidents did not result in serious injuries, although some were transported to local Hospitals by Hatzolah and EMS with various injuries.
The above number does not include fender benders which are sometimes worked out between the involved parties, and are not reported to police.
Police say the rain attributed to the above-normal amount of accidents. TLS.

LAKEWOOD RESIDENTS NEED TO ASK THEMSELVES = “WHERE ARE MY EYES, EARS, BRAINS, THOUGHTS, HANDS, CHILDREN; WHEN IM DRIVING?”
if anything is out of place, expect your car to whack something or someone!
You come up with that one all on your own, genius??
hey reality, obviously this town needs reminders – with the rate of MVA’s and pedestrians being struck. if you have a problem with that, choose to ignore my comments. lets be mature about this now. you are the exact knucklehead i spoke about.
Maybe if the lakewood police spent more time on traffic issues instead of spending hours and hours investigating a minister that runs a homeless camp this town would be a lot safer.
blame it on the rain,,I rather blame it on bad drivers
Don’t blame police for doing their job. Driving in Lakewood is HORRIBLE. We can all thank the planning/zoning boards for that. Let’s pack close to 100,000 people in what 20 mile sq radius, while still operating at the level of a town. Come on now!
I think ” ALWAYS TOWING ” should change it’s name to ” FOREVER TOWING “….!!!!!
I think I should go into the car insurance business……….but then again knowing my mazel -or the lack of it- there would be no car accidents.
Kudos BLAME!!! If the people pay more attention to driving and not talking on their cell phones like I see many of them do.
We all have done it, but its more dangerous now..more cars, still the same old roads..We all need to be more attentive to what we do..our lives depend on it
blame:
1) bad drivers
2) bad zoning
3) not enough sidewalks
4) not enough lighting
It is not going to get any better, as long as there is unconstrained population growth without equal amounts of infrastructure upgrades and improvements.
I see RUSH, RUSH, RUSH in areas that are dangerous, while drivers chat on the cell.
What can be so important that drivers are willing to put their own safety and the safety of others at risk to save a minute.
funny #7 ! seriously though, it’s no surprise about the amount of MVA’s in lakewood. people simply do not know how to drive in this town – rain or shine!
#4 ….. It’s Lakewood police departments fault that 20 crashes occurred yesterday just like its food’s fault that your fat. Use your head.
Hey Yossie Greenberg:
I like it, blame everything on some one or something else and make sure you don’t have to take responsibility for anything you do!
Stop running red lights…get off the phones….. and start ticketing the jay walkers on Madison…. Really you have to swerve around people all day running across route 9….
#10 Sidewalks….. are you kidding me….. whats a sidewalk… I see people walking in the street all the time…. baby strollers to… The town approves all this building and land sales…. blame the town…for the traffic…
I hate to say it but these are people that stop suddenly to pick others up in the rain and sudden stop are terrilble in rain.
#15, instead of swerving for people. How about actually comming to a stop at the stop sign and not until your quarter panel of the car is at the center line. Maybe that would reduce the accident rate oh lets say by 1/3
How about creating a local bus service in Lakewood ih “k. This would solve a lot of the congestion problems.
our town needs more
1. sidewalks
2. traffic lights
3. wider roads
4. DRIVERS WHO DRIVE NORMAL !
TY
to# 20…# good luck with #4 on your list..!!!
