As if almost a weekly occurrence now, yet another resident is missing money, this time $2,000 cash, after the only non-family member with access to his wallet he says, was his Cleaning help. Detective Lieutenant William Addison of the Lakewood Police Department tells TLS, that the resident hung up his pants in a bathroom of his home after returning from a trip to Walmart, and returned to the bathroom a short time later to find his wallet missing, according to the report.
Thinking he may have left it in Walmart, the man returned to the store in search of his wallet.
After video surveillance at Walmart showed the man placing his wallet in his pocket, he returned home.
He tells Police, the only one who had access to his wallet, was his cleaning lady known to him on a first-name basis only, as ‘Maria’.
Addison stressed the importance of getting your cleaning helper’s full information-and if possible, a photo-and not just a first name, which makes tracing the suspect, difficult.
This is just the latest of a string of ‘Cleaning Lady’ incidents to have occurred over the past month.
Police are investigating.
Not to blame the victim here, but how irresponsible is it to leave two thousand dollars lying around like that?
“Not to blame the victim here, but how irresponsible” …?
If one can not be at home – at home – then thats a big problem. Either way something needs to be done. Pehaps someone will open a clearing agency with prescreen cleaning ladies with full contact and family info.
I have faith in out super cops…..
i am so happy i have a wife who , together with my help is capable of cleaning her own kitchen.
Why exactly do you have $2000 in cash in your wallet. Thats just stupid. Why would you hang up your pants in your bathroom with $2000 in it and why would you do that if you have a stranger in your house. To #2, they do have legitimate cleaning lady agencies. These agencies have the full name, address, phone number and other vital information about the cleaning ladies they hire out. Until people stop hiring strangers that they know nothing about, to clean their house, they continually open the door for this activity. How about cleaning your own house yourself?
I hope the detectives have some time to spare to ck it out!
Keep hiring ILLEGALS…keep getting taken!!! Stupid is as stupid does!!!
The cleaning ladies are getting desperate that they give up all their jobs for on time theft. Marbe avodim marbe gozeil, it is an old story.
Marbe shfochos, Marbe zima
you have to be dan lekaf zechus maybe his children took it to make him a surprise…? and DO NOT call yourself Lashon Hora!
B”H I can clean my house myself and do not need hired help. I hope I never have to hire anyone to clean either. If I did, I wouldn’t leave the house when the help is there and I wouldn’t let her be alone in a room without supervision either. And I wouldn’t leave valuables unlocked or easily accessible either.
Cleaning people who work for agencies that are bonded and insured cost more. That is why people do not use them. Often, you get what you pay for.
why blame the cleaning lady, maybe the man is very forgetfull
sadly my teenage brother stole 800 dollars from my father. .
Although it probably is the cleaning lady that took this money, I do know of quite a few times that I, or people that I know, suspected cleaning help when some items were missing and later found the items. Sometimes we jump to the wrong conclusions.
here’s a solution to the problem, clean your own house then when something goes missing you can’t blame the illegal housekeeper you hired.
