Clarification from Chai Urgent Care regarding COVID-10 testing

Since opening as an official testing site for COVID-19 several days ago, Chai Urgent Care’s multiple locations have been inundated with people who are anxious and want to be tested.

We would like to clarify who needs to be tested. But even more importantly, who does NOT need to be tested.

If you are under 60 years old, you are healthy and you are not around older people, you do not need to be tested. We are already at the stage, unfortunately, where everyone must act as if they are COVID-19 carriers.

If you are feeling fine, then go about your day, although under the new heightened awareness of the coronavirus pandemic era and stay away from older or unhealthy people. But you do not need to be tested.

If you have a fever and cough, stay home and rest. You do not need to be tested. If you feel you are having shortness of breath or any acute event, seek medical care. You do not need to be tested.

Here’s when you should be tested. If you have come into contact with someone with COVID-19 symptoms, you have symptoms yourself, and are in a high risk group. Please come to a Chai Urgent Care center for a test and you could expect results between 2-4 days. High risk patients include older adults and people with serious medical conditions such heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, etc.

Stay safe, keep calm, and have a healthy and good day.
