Ciattarelli: I Will No Longer Be Buying Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Over Israel Boycott

Jack Ciattarelli, the Republican candidate for governor in New Jersey, said Tuesday that his family will no longer buy Ben & Jerry’s ice cream following the company’s decision to stop selling their products in parts of Israel it deems “Occupied Palestinian Territory.”

“In response to Ben & Jerry’s decision to stop selling their products in parts of Israel, the Ciattarelli household will no longer be buying their ice cream or products,” the Republican candidate tweeted.

The decision by Ben & Jerry’s has sparked a backlash amongst both American and Israeli Jews, who say the sales ban by the company is part and parcel of a broader attempt by leftists to normalize anti-Semitism.

An analyst noted that the company’s decision likely won’t have a substantial negative effect on Israel, but it will cause Palestinian workers at the Ben & Jerry’s distributor across the Green Line to lose their jobs. In effect, Ben & Jerry’s decision is an anti-Palestinian decision, rather than an anti-Israel one.

Governor Phil Murphy has not made any public statement on the company’s decision.

  1. Mr. Ciattarelli, will you provide us with your records so we can verify that you keep your promise? Otherwise I will still have to vote for Murphy.
